In addition to normal gems, Infinity Blade III introduces indoor and outdoor gems that have larger caps and only have their effects when Siris or Isa are inside a building or outside a building. Gems will be abbreviated (N) for normal, (I) for indoor, and (O) for outdoor.

Circle gems provide stat bonuses. There is a glitched gem called a "Rare Treasure Gem" that has a blue color and has no effect.
Rare circle gems can be forged by combining a capped circle gem, a capped indoor circle gem, and a capped outdoor circle gem. These can be further upgraded by combining it with any combination of normal and indoor/outdoor gems above a certain threshold. This can be done up to 255 times.
Square gems provide elemental attack bonuses to weapons.
A rare square gem can be forged by using a capped normal, indoor, and outdoor gem (in that order) of the same element to make a +500 rare gem. These can be upgraded by +200 by forging it with any combination of +≥201 normal and +≥450 indoor/outdoor gems. This can be done up to 255 times for a maximum of 51,500.
The rare spectrum gem was obtainable via various clashmobs and from the hideout chest. It was given out at +1,000 and cannot be upgraded.
- 10 December 2015, in commemoration of the fifth anniversary of Infinity Blade.
The rare darkfire gem can be obtained in two ways: the Black Fire Map (obtained via The Obscure Map), and killing the second dragon, Pisci. It was possible to obtain more rare darkfire gems by completing Aegis Tournaments and clashmobs. These gems are initially awarded at +1,000 and can be upgraded by +500 by combining it two capped (+400 for normal, +750 for indoor/outdoor) square attack gems of any type. This can be done up to 255 times for a maximum of 128,500.
Notes[]
While the Darkfire gem is equipped, Isa's sword slashes appear rainbow, with sparkles. Upon mega hit (after super attack), heart particles appear to float around the slash, then fade away.
Siris has a golden slash, and on combo, it appears blue with a golden-orange outline.

The Great Parry all gem was added in the Ausar's Rising update with the other Classic Rare Defence Gem. To obtain this triangle Gem the player will need 3 Perfect Parry do 6250 damage Gems (must be capped). This is an 100% success rate forge. This Gem allows parry to shield bashes and monstrosity claws and sells for $300,000. This was originally a dual Gem and could only be used on dual weapons.

Rare Defense Gem 50%
Rare Defense Gem 100%
In Infinity Blade III, Rare Defense Gems vary from 5% to 100% elemental resistance. Higher level gems are created by fusing together lower level gems. The lowest level (5% resistance) rare defense gems are created by fusing together three regular resistance gems. Those can be store-bought and of any type.
The forging progression is as follows:
- three regular resistance gems (any type and order) → one 5% rare defense gem
- three 5% gems → one 10% gem
- three 10% gems → one 25% gem
- three 25% gems → one 50% gem
- three 50% gems → one 100% gem
Overall, it takes 243 regular resistance gems to produce one 100% rare defense gem. The store always sells 2 or 3 resistance gems on each awakening, each costing 5000 gold. It's prudent to start buying and fusing them as early as financially possible, because the whole process is quite lengthy.
It is a good idea to make two of these, one for Siris and one for Isa. Also, if you lose one in Deathless Mode, you can still equip the other instead of making a new one.
Elemental resistance gems are cumulative: their effects add up linearly all the way up to 100%. For example, complete resistance can be achieved by using two 50% defense gems: 50% + 50% = 100%. It should be noted that 100% resistance allows the player to block attacks from non-Spectrum enemies without taking damage, making shields viable even without mastering perfect blocking. Strikes from enemies with Elemental Titan perk or otherwise can use Spectrum attacks will count as "broken block", but will inflict very little damage with a minimal duration (this is similar to how Spectrum resistant titans still take Spectrum damage, but only at 10% vulnerability). Pushing resistance over 100% doesn't prevent this damage.Rare gems[]
