Foolish mortal! You have sealed your doom in coming here.Kuero, to Siris, Infinity Blade I

Kuero is one of the the Deathless Kings imprisoned in Dungeon of the Temple of Lantimor. Prior to that he served Lelindre of House Kor as her chief general and head of the Kuro Shino, her elite guards.[1]

When killed, Kuero drops the Dragoor Scale. He equips Silver.

When you enter the Dungeon of the castle, it is recommended that you face Kuero first before any other of the three Deathless Kings for the following reasons:

  • He has the lowest level of the three Deathless Kings.
  • He drops the Dragoor Scale, which can be helpful when fighting the other Deathless Kings and the Zero Mech.

Appearance[]

Kuero's outfit consists of mostly of silk (or some other similar material) garments, coupled with basic but ornate metal armor. His mask is partially concealed by his hood, but on closer inspection it is shown to be completely featureless.

Location[]

To get to him, you must have defeated the God King and obtained the Infinity Blade. Once you have it, head to the Dungeon of the castle, where you will be able to use the Blade as a key, unlocking three doors in the area. Kuero is located in the middle door, the one slightly to the right. He is level 50 in the OG. In his chamber, you will find him meditating on the end of the ledge which can be walked on. This prison chamber is a soul cell and contains spikes with rotting corpses hanging on them.

Kuero can also be encountered on round 16 in Survival Mode.

Kuero returns in Infinity Blade II with an appearance in several ClashMob battles. At times, he is referred to in ClashMob descriptions as the "dark ninja". The description states that he wants retribution. His voice lines are those of a Plated Sorok, with an Iron Golem's growl.

While Kuero does not directly appear in Infinity Blade III (having been killed by Siris in the first game), there is a map called Kuero's Cache Map. The enemy Kuro Shino in the Pinnacle Monastery also appears, fights and sounds identical to Kuero, being members of the elite guard, he oversaw.

Combat[]

Kuero is a very fast dual-wielding enemy, with a similar fighting styles to the two dual wielding enemies, the Wood Jester and Plated Sorok. Some of his regular attacks can be deceptive, as the usual visual cues with other enemies are simply ploys. Overall, though, he can be quite easily defeated with a small amount of practice. Below is a detailed guide to Kuero's Stepbacks.

Stepbacks[]

Kuero has three Stepbacks

Front Flip Slam

Analysis

In this Stepback Kuero quickly does a back flip away from the player, before doing a Double front flip and slamming both of his swords in the in the center. Dealing heavy damage if you happen to be in the impact zone.

Avoiding this Stepback can be done in multiple ways. The most optimal is to dodge in any direction to avoid both attack, and right as Kuero lands, a stab prompt will appear, allowing you to deal extra damage and start attacking. A stab break will grant more damage than a dodge break so this is the most optimal. Because of the long wind up on this attack it's very easy to react and dodge before he hits you. This attack is unparryable and unblockable.

Run and Slash

Analysis

In this Stepback Kuero retreats before running to deliver a double kick to the center, and then slashing in every direction with his swords.

Avoiding this Stepback can be a little tricky, but the most optimal method is to dodge in either direction to avoid the kicks, then when he raises his swords a stab prompt will appear on his face, allowing you to interrupt his final swing, and deal extra damage. This is best as a stab break will equate to more damage than a block break, which is the only other way to deal damage as the attack is undodgeable. If you're having trouble with this then holding shield for the entire duration will also work, it's just the least efficient sense it will give you the least amount of time to strike back, and Kuero can still deal damage sense he has Elemental attacks, provided you don't have a corresponding Elemental defense shield.

Double Spin Kick Slash

Kuero-Stepback-C-IB1

Analysis

In this Stepback Kuero backs up slightly only to follow up with a double spin kick to the center, followed by a slash to the right and left

This Stepback can be avoided in multiple ways, the most optimal is to long dodge to the left to avoid the first two kicks and the slash, than parry the final slash from the right in order to get a parry break, which will give you the most amount of time to strike back. However, this can be difficult. As not only does the player need time it so that they are not to early, and end up having to be forced back into the center and being hit by one or more attacks. But they must also not be too late, for if they are there will be no time to parry the final slash. It's worth noting that after the left slash there is a brief window where a stab icon will appear on Kuero's face, pressing it will allow you to interrupt his right slash. This is arguably a safer option but this leads to less damage than a parry break, and you can easily underestimate the amount of time you have to react and get hit by Kuero's final slash. The safest option is hold shield for the entire duration, it's just the least efficient since it will give you the least amount of time to strike back, and Kuero can still deal damage since he always has Elemental attacks, provided you don't have a corresponding Elemental defense shield.

Combat Tips[]

Have a good shield with a high durability stat and Elemental defense against whatever Kuero's element has. You can rely primarily on blocking if you are attempting to play as safe as possible, since none of Kuero's attacks can go through Shields. As for weapons Kuero is immune to a number of random elements, so a high damage elemental weapon may or may not be effective against him. Because of this, holding on to the Infinity Blade required to fight him in the first place is a good option.

However, if you are aiming to beat Kuero faster and have enough skills and quick reflexes in parrying, it is recommended that you parry most of his attacks for a parry break (except for the ones involving kicks since those you can only block or dodge) since it gives the largest hit-window. Kuero's attacks are generally like any dual-weaponed enemy so if you are having trouble dealing with him, you can practice fighting similar enemies like the Wood Jester and Plated Sorok
