There are three weapon classes in Infinity Blade II and Infinity Blade III, each with distinct strengths and weaknesses.
Light weapons[]
Light weapons strike a balance of speed and damage, making them a versatile choice. They are moderate in both speed and damage, allowing for a versatile stance between Heavy and Dual weapon. These are the only weapons that allow the use of shields, though bonuses from shields apply regardless of equipped weapon type.
Features[]
- Moderate speed and damage
- Enable dodging left and right
- Most varied combo types among weapon classes
- Shield bonuses apply regardless of the equipped weapon
Combos[]
Huge Combo: Strike in one direction, then the opposite, then the first.
- Example: Left, right, left - last strike deals 200% damage.
Mega Combo: Strike twice in one direction, then twice in the opposite.
- Example: Left, left, right, right - last strike deals 250% damage.
Ultra Combo: Strike in four unique directions, then repeat a prior direction.
- Example: Left, right, up, down, up - last strike deals 300% damage.
Light weapons are the sole combat option in Infinity Blade I. Some weapons, such as Kraken and Forge, are Heavy weapons in Infinity Blade II, while others, like Silver and Bobi, are Dual weapons.
Heavy weapons[]
Heavy weapons are a class of two-handed weapons in Infinity Blade II and Infinity Blade III. These weapons attack slowly but deal significantly more damage compared to light weapons and dual weapons, typically three times that of a light weapon. While heavy weapons do not allow for shields or dodging, they enable directional blocking, which relies on the shield stat. Players can execute heavy weapon combos with simple sequences, such as two strikes in the same direction, dealing 200% damage.
After a combo, players can "slash" enemies for additional damage. Slashes function similarly to light weapon stabs but do not apply elemental damage. The precision of a slash determines its effectiveness, with better alignment causing more damage.
Features[]
- Disables dodging but enables directional blocking.
- Combos are simple, focusing on repeated strikes in the same direction.
- Heavy weapon blocks differ from shield blocks and require alignment with enemy attacks. Center attacks must be blocked using the center block icon.
- Blocking with a heavvy weapon depletes shield endurance. This endurance increases by one point after each parry or succesful block.
While heavy weapons deal substantial damage, they reduce the player's defensive flexibility. They are particularly challenging against enemies with multi-hit attacks that change direction rapidly. Players are advised to practice Perfect Blocks extensively or equip Rare Defense Gems to mitigate elemental damage, especially when facing complex enemies like Xyloto, Kuro Shino, or Regular Female-class titans.
Slashes[]
The accuracy of slashes determines their damage output:
- Weak — 50% damage
- Normal — 75% damage
- Great — 100% damage
- Perfect — 125% damage
Dual weapons[]
Dual weapons are a class of dual-wielded weapons in Infinity Blade II and Infinity Blade III. They are faster than light and heavy weapons, though only inflict 75% of the damage of a light weapon. They make room for longer combo chains that gradually increase damage output as a form of compensation. These weapons disable the use of shields, instead relying on dodging and parrying for defense.
Damage from a typical combination (e.g., right, left, right, or equivalent) is 200%. Dual weapons can strike quickly after the combo until the chain is broken or an extreme hit is delivered. However, the inability to block means players must rely on timing and precision to avoid damage effectively.
Features[]
- High Speed: Dual weapons prioritize agility, enabling faster attacks compared to other weapon types.
- Combo Chaining: Allows repeated strikes in a single combo chain, maximizing damage output over time.
- Dodging Mechanics: Replace shields with evasive maneuvers—ducking for Siris and jumping for Isa—to avoid attacks.
- Enhanced Dodge Meter: Two extra dodge points are granted, replenished over time, through parries, or by advancing to the next battle.
- Precision Stabbing: After breaking an enemy’s guard, players can execute multiple stabs, which cumulatively deal significant damage.
Ultra Hits[]
Ultra Hits are executed at the end of a combo chain by following specific sequences of directional strikes and deal 300% damage. There are two primary patterns:
- Strike in one direction, then the opposite, then the first, then alternate the chosen directions, before finishing with a direction not previously used.
- Example: Left, right, left, right, left, up.
- Strike in one direction, then the opposite, then the first, then a new direction not previously used, followed by its opossite, and end with a direction on the other axis.
- Example: Left, right, left, right, up, down, left.
Notes[]
Occasionally, multiple stab icons will appear on an enemy instead of just one at a time. These icons can be tapped in rapid succession for various stabs, dealing much more damage than usual. However, it is recommended to tap the stab circles slowly and accurately. Rapid tapping can trigger the "unregistered parry" glitch, which may result in the player taking significantly more damage than expected.
Additionally, by chaining combos creatively (e.g., left-right-left-up, left-right-left-right-up, etc.), Siris will sometimes perform unique animations, such as an X-shaped attack, further enhancing the visual and gameplay variety of dual weapons.
